Over The River And Through The Woods

First Visit to Grannie and Pop’s House
We were honored last Sunday to welcome our new granddaughter into our home for the first time! She was less than a week old and her parents brought her to church and then “over the river and through the woods” to our house. Our joy overflowed.
Clare was dressed up in an adorable little dressed with a smocked yoke. She wore tiny white tights and little socks that looked like tiny black shoes with a strap.
While we enjoyed our lunch, Karl (Pop) sang to Clare. She was wide awake and mesmerized by his singing, she stared up at his face. We laughed at Karl’s choice of songs. He started with Disney’s score to Beauty and The Beast and finally settled on a tune from Guys and Dolls. The lyrics amused Val, Andrew and I.
Follow the fold and stray no more
Stray no more, stray no more.
Put down the bottle and we'll say no more
Follow, follow, the fold.
Before you take another swallow!
Clare seemed to be able to relate. She was blissfully happy for the rest of the afternoon.
